Get a Akai MPC500 if you want to go portable remember just because it is portable doesn’t mean that it’s bad it has same specifications as any other MPC, but if you want one just in studio and not a portable one then I suggest you get a MPC2500 or MPC1000

let’s just say this, when i sat down on it for the first time this afternoon at guitar center, i guess you could say i felt like rza “after five minutes on the mv, i was hooked”. i was leaning towards the mpc2500 for quite some time, but in terms of being “user friendly” the mpc isn’t even close. go toy around w/ one at the store before you make a purchase tho. if i wouldn’t have sat on the mv for a few minutes, i probably would have bought an mpc without knowing. gl
